We are seeking a skilled and CASA-certified Drone Pilot to join our aerial survey team and support a range of projects with high-quality drone data capture. About the Role As a Drone Pilot, you will be responsible for planning and conducting aerial surveys, inspections, and mapping using CASA-certified drones. You will capture accurate imagery and data to support utility locating, site mapping, and progress monitoring while ensuring compliance with aviation regulations and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Operate CASA-certified drones for aerial photography, videography, and data collection Plan and execute flight missions according to project requirements and safety protocols Process and deliver high-quality orthomosaic images, 3D models, and survey data Ensure compliance with CASA regulations including REPL and REOC certifications Maintain drone equipment and keep flight logs up to date Liaise with site teams, clients, and regulatory bodies as needed Monitor weather and environmental conditions to ensure safe flight operations Required Skills & Qualifications Valid CASA Remote Pilot Licence (REPL) and Remote Operator’s Certificate (REOC) Proven experience operating drones for commercial or industrial projects Strong understanding of drone technology, flight planning, and data processing software Excellent attention to detail and situational awareness Good communication and teamwork skills Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions Highly Regarded (but not essential) Experience with GIS and photogrammetry software (e.g., Pix4D, DroneDeploy) Experience working on construction, civil, or utility projects First Aid certification What We Offer Competitive salary overtime travel allowances Fully maintained work vehicle, tools, and uniform Opportunities for professional development and certification renewals A supportive, safety-focused work environment The chance to work on cutting-edge projects with a market leader Join Geotrace and take flight with Australia’s leading provider of underground locating and subsurface mapping services.
