The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing petrol engines and mechanical components of lightweight motor vehicles, including transmissions, suspensions, steering, and brakes. Key responsibilities included but not limited to. Diagnose and repair mechanical issues across a variety of vehicle makes and models. Conduct thorough inspections to assess necessary repairs and maintenance. Utilize specialized diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify faults. Perform mechanical repairs, including routine servicing, brake and clutch maintenance, and timing belt replacements. Change engine and transmission oils as part of regular servicing. Conduct quality checks and roadworthy testing before vehicle handover. Stay updated with advancements in automotive repair technologies and adopt best practices. Disassemble, replace, or repair faulty parts to ensure optimal vehicle performance. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment. Interact with customers to explain necessary repairs, provide cost estimates, and address concerns professionally. Skills & Qualifications Certificate or vocational training in Automotive Mechanics. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in servicing and repairing light vehicles. Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills. Proficiency in using repair manuals and diagnostic tools. Knowledge of road safety and environmental regulations. Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on safety. Salary $77,500 per annum plus superannuation
