About the role We are seeking a Policy & Advocacy Coordinator (Branches) to help shape and deliver mental health policy and advocacy across our state Branches. You will work closely with Branch Policy Advisors, Committees, and the Bi-national policy team to coordinate national advocacy efforts, develop policy content, and strengthen stakeholder relationships. This role offers the chance to influence mental health policy, support clinicians, and contribute to campaigns that make a real difference in people’s lives. Key responsibilities: Support consultation processes, track and analyse feedback Assist with submissions, briefings, and evidence-based policy positions Coordinate cross-Branch advocacy campaigns and legislative responses Maintain relationships with government departments and health agencies Provide secretariat support to Branch Committees Monitor trends and reforms for strategic policy responses Contribute to work planning, reporting, and team collaboration What you'll bring Relevant tertiary qualification in public policy, social sciences, health, law, or related field Knowledge of policy development and government structures Strong research, analytical, and communication skills Experience managing policy or advocacy projects Collaborative approach across teams and jurisdictions (Desirable) Experience in membership-based or clinician-led organisations (Desirable) Interest in mental health and health systems Full working rights in Australia Some of what’s on offer: Base salary $58,000 to $72,000 leave loading 12% super Flexible work location (home or local branch) One paid day off per month for full-time employees 12 weeks paid gender-neutral parental leave Inclusive, values-led workplace celebrating diversity Work on initiatives improving mental health outcomes across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand How to apply Submit your resume and cover letter as a single document via the Expr3ss link.
