Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Yard/General Hand to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play an integral role in maintaining our high standards for operational efficiency and safety within our yard operations. Responsibilities Operate forklifts to efficiently load and unload vehicles, ensuring all operations comply with safety regulations. Pick and pack steel orders with precision and care, maintaining attention to quality and detail. Skillfully operate the overhead gantry crane to facilitate the movement and placement of materials. Maintain a clean and orderly yard, identifying and addressing potential hazards proactively. Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and support the overall success of yard operations. Adhere to all safety policies and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Engage in regular safety training and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in safety practices. Qualifications Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required; comprehensive training will be provided. Valid Australian forklift license with experience handling diverse sizes of loads. Skills in operating overhead gantry cranes are advantageous but not mandatory. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team. Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail. Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for all team members. Flexibility to adapt to varying shifts and workload demands.
