Position Description The Quality and Safety Officer reports to the Head of Quality, Safety and Training (HQST) and is responsible for supporting quality assurance and safety management activities at our Alice Springs base. This full-time, onsite position provides direct support across quality, safety, SMS, training, and auditing functions, with mentorship and guidance from the HQST. The role is central to maintaining compliance with CASA Part 145 and Part 42 requirements, while also contributing to a positive safety culture. Duties and Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities of the Quality and Safety Officer listed below are not exhaustive and the position is required to carry out activities at the direction of the HQST and senior management team within the individual’s capability and scope of responsibilities. · Quality & Safety Oversight · Support HQST in quality assurance and safety management functions · Conduct internal audits, support SMS, manage documentation, and contribute to incident investigations · Assist with document control, technical records auditing, and continuous improvement initiatives · Monitor compliance with CASR Part 145, Part 42, and relevant MOS requirements · Monitor compliance within the regulatory framework of FAA, EASA, CAANZ and CAAP · General · Work effectively with engineering and operations teams to implement corrective and preventative actions · Support staff training records management and professional development · Contribute to safety culture initiatives and promote hazard reporting · Assist in maintaining compliance documentation in line with NAA and company standards Requirements Candidate Requirements · Mandatory · Minimum 3 years’ experience in aviation maintenance, compliance, or safety/quality roles · Strong working knowledge of CASR Part 145, Part 42, Part 66 and relevant MOS requirements · Knowledge of Human Factors, SMS, and FRMS · Desirable · Lead Auditor qualification (or willingness to complete with company support) · Experience in auditing, risk management, and safety investigations · Working knowledge within the regulatory framework of EASA, FAA, CAANZ and CAAP · Other Conditions · Position based in Alice Springs (FIFO/Hybrid not available) · Relocation support available for the right candidate · Visa sponsorship is NOT available (Internationals DO NOT APPLY) · Must satisfy the requirements for an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), including pre-employment DAMP testing Benefits Benefits · Compensation: · Salary: $85,000 – $110,000 superannuation (commensurate with experience) · Location: · APAS Facility, Alice Springs Airport, Alice Springs, Northern Territory · This is a residential position (not FIFO) · Additional: · Uniforms supplied · Relocation support for the right candidate · Professional development supported through a training bond program
