ABOUT THE ROLE Our client is seeking an experienced Export Airfreight Operator to join our team on-site at Melbourne Airport, VIC. This is a full-time, senior-level role requiring prior exposure to export operations and systems. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end export airfreight processes, including bookings, documentation, compliance, and customer communication. You’ll work closely with airlines, customers, and internal teams to ensure shipments are executed accurately, on time, and in full compliance with aviation security and regulatory standards. DUTIES • Manage export airfreight bookings with accuracy and attention to deadlines • Coordinate airline space allocations, confirm bookings, and issue pre-alerts • Prepare and manage all export documentation (MAWB, HAWB, SLI, export declarations) • Track and monitor shipment milestones, providing updates to clients and stakeholders • Resolve operational delays in collaboration with providers and internal teams • Ensure compliance with ABF, DAFF, Aviation Security, and other export regulations • Support Import Operations when required, including counter duties for bonded cargo • Maintain accurate job costing, invoicing, and reconciliations in CW1 • Liaise with airlines, ground handlers, and freight partners to coordinate cargo flows • Contribute to process improvements, SOP updates, and automation initiatives SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • Previous experience in airfreight operations, freight forwarding, or logistics • Proficiency in CW1 is essential • Exposure to Impex/Exdoc systems is highly regarded • Strong communication and customer service skills • Knowledge of supply chain and export compliance requirements • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment COMPANY CULTURE This company has built strongly year after year over the past decade.
