Position S ummary Reporting to the Head of Communications, the Media Advisor is responsible for the day-to-day media management of our renewable energy projects across Operations, Delivery and Development. The Communications function works across all business areas of Squadron Energy to grow and protect its corporate reputation and to ensure the publication of accurate and high-quality information. This role may involve travel to other office locations and sites to engage and liaise with broader Squadron Energy (SQE) teams and relevant stakeholders. Key R esponsibilities Build trusted relationships and provide media advice and support to all business units and internal stakeholders of Squadron Energy. Proactively maintain and develop strong relationships with regional media outlets. Support delivery of media plans and activities that promote Squadron Energy’s project milestones and community investment activities to maximise brand awareness and renewable energy knowledge in the community. Ensure internal stakeholders are kept aware of media issues and opportunities as they arise. Develop responses to media issues, enquiries and opportunities in a highly effective and timely manner. Provide advice on media messaging and management approaches and escalate issues when . Deliver a range of content across social media, online, internal communications, and presentations. Contribute to consistency of messaging across channels and provide support to project teams with community communications. Work closely with the Head of Communications and Media & Communications Manager to develop annual business plans and contribute to integrated communications campaigns. Report monthly on areas of responsibility and contribute to wider communications team initiatives as . Skills and experience Experience and knowledge 2-3 years’ experience as a journalist or media advisor. Experience in media relations including but not limited to planning proactive media campaigns and events, writing media releases, pitching media stories and managing media enquiries and contentious issues. Experience working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Experience working in renewable energy or regional communities (desirable). Strong written and oral communication skills and a high degree of interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment to meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and a willingness to take on a range of tasks. Ability to interpret analytics data and translate it into actionable insights. Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities while maintaining high standards of work. Ability to take a flexible and creative approach to successfully manage opportunities, issues and requests. Qualifications / Tickets / Other Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations and/or related relevant field experience. Driver’s license.
