This role is pivotal in driving ART’s sustainable investment research and climate strategy to help support a resilient investment portfolio for our members retirement. You will be at the forefront that shapes and executes the strategy for sustainable investment research, including climate change, providing thought leadership and actionable insights that influence portfolio management and investment decision-making. You’ll collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, oversee the refinement and implementation of ART’s Net Zero Roadmap 2050, and play a key role in sustainable investment advocacy and policy. Day to day, you'll: Develop the sustainable investment research agenda, delivering thought leadership on topics such as climate change, nature, human rights, and emerging topics such as artificial intelligence. Execute strategies for qualitative and quantitative sustainable investment research, to provide actionable insights for the investment portfolio. Further develop and execute the Net Zero Roadmap 2050 for ART’s investment portfolio, embedding climate-related targets, identifying risks, and opportunities. Oversee total portfolio climate scenario analysis, including physical / transition risk assessment. Lead the collection of sustainable investment data and delivering insights for effective monitoring. Deliver internal and external reporting on sustainable investment data and research topics. Support the development and delivery of sustainable investment training programs. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally. Represent ART at industry events and on key committees, enhancing our brand and influence. Manage and develop a high-performing team, fostering an inclusive and growth-oriented environment. This role is a permanent opportunity. Location: Sydney or Brisbane. About you It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: You will have demonstrated expertise in climate change. Knowledge of other sustainability topics such as nature and human rights are highly desirable. You have 18 years experience and relevant tertiary qualifications, ideally a degree or postgraduate qualification in finance, investments, commerce, engineering, science, or economics. You bring deep experience working in the investments industry, with strong knowledge of legislation, regulations, market trends, risk-reward optimisation, and emerging issues. You’re highly experienced in investment related climate change research, with a track record of influencing investment decisions to deliver measurable outcomes. You have demonstrated experience in driving thought leadership on climate investment trends and other sustainable investment topics such as nature and human rights. You have deep experience evaluating sustainable investment data across multi-asset portfolios. You exhibit exceptional research and analytical skills, leveraging data to inform your strategic and innovative thinking. You’re advanced in stakeholder management and negotiation, building strong relationships to achieve the best outcomes. Your written and verbal communication skills are outstanding, and you’re confident presenting to senior management and executive audiences. You’re adept at managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You have experience leading a team to consistently deliver on objectives.
