We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team and support essential infrastructure projects in the City of Victor Harbor. Key Responsibilities: • Perform civil construction and maintenance tasks efficiently and safely. • Identify problems, assess alternative solutions, and develop recommendations. • Maintain high levels of communication and teamwork. • Manage time effectively and prioritise tasks. • Follow administrative processes, procedures, and customer service principles. • Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards. • Operate relevant machinery, plant, and equipment as per the Local Government Employees Award. Essential Selection Criteria: • Certificate III in Civil Construction. • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related position. • Demonstrated competency in civil construction and maintenance processes. • Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and decision-making. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. • Good understanding of WHS principles and procedures. • Current Driver’s Licence. • Experience in customer service with a strong focus on quality service delivery. • Working knowledge of the Local Government Act and related legislation. • Ability to adapt to technological changes and use technology effectively. Desirable Selection Criteria: • Certificate IV in Civil Construction. • Current Medium Rigid (MR) or Light Rigid (LR) Driver’s Licence. • White Card. • Work-Zone Traffic Management Certificate. • First Aid Certificate. • Knowledge of Council’s policies, procedures, and responsibilities.
