About the Role As Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, you will be a vital part of the club’s leadership team. Working closely with the Course Superintendent, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the course’s presentation and playability to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will be passionate about turf management, possess strong operational and leadership skills, and have a hands-on, proactive approach to team development and daily operations. Key Responsibilities Assist in scheduling, supervising, and leading daily maintenance operations and project work Where required, be available to work outside of delegated hours to ensure outcomes are achieved Manage Poa/ Bent grass greens with a focus on moisture control and disease management Train and induct staff at all levels Assist in agronomic planning, irrigation scheduling/ maintenance, and product applications Lead and participate in construction and renovation projects Perform maintenance of all turf areas including greens, tees, surrounds, fairways, roughs, and bunkers Apply pesticides and fertilisers safely and effectively Contribute to irrigation management and course set-up Follow and enforce safe workplace and environmental practices Manage and operate weekend rostering and staffing The Ideal Candidate Will Have Certificate III in Sports Turf Management (essential); Certificate IV or Diploma (highly regarded/ preferred) Experience in a similar role within the golf course industry Proven team leadership and excellent communication skills Strong knowledge of Poa/ Bent grass management in Sydney’s climate Expertise in turfgrass agronomy, disease management, and irrigation Competence with turf machinery, drainage systems, and renovation practices Experience with chemical and fertiliser applications A strong work ethic and physical fitness for manual tasks Why Join Us?
