Key responsibilities will include: Providing regulatory advice on retail energy operations across multiple Australian jurisdictions Ensuring compliance with National Energy Retail Law, National Energy Retail Rules, and state-based energy regulations Managing regulatory compliance programs including customer protection obligations, hardship policies, and marketing conduct requirements Monitoring regulatory developments and assessing their impact on business operations and strategy Preparing regulatory submissions, consultation responses, and policy advocacy materials Supporting licence compliance and regulatory reporting obligations across multiple states Advising on customer contract terms, pricing methodologies, and retail market conduct Managing relationships with energy market regulators including AER, ACMA, and state-based authorities Coordinating compliance activities across operations, customer service, and commercial teams Supporting regulatory audits, investigations, and enforcement proceedings Advising on new product development and ensuring regulatory compliance for innovative energy solutions Contributing to industry working groups and regulatory consultation processes Training internal stakeholders on regulatory requirements and compliance obligations About the Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate brings significant experience in energy retail regulation with strong knowledge of Australia's National Energy Retail framework and state-based energy laws. Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business guidance are essential for success in this role.
