Description DIRECTORATE: Business, Growth & Community CLASSIFICATION: Grade E SALARY: A base salary of $75,436 pa with competency-based increments up to $87,506 pa 12% employer contribution to superannuation REPORTING TO: Facility and Operations Coordinator EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Permanent Full Time THE POSITION: To provide specialist technical support to meet the requirements of Albury Entertainment Centre’s clients, hirers and customers including the operation of lighting, sound, audio visual, stage equipment and tools. To attend to maintenance of the building, plant, and equipment to ensure the facility operates effectively as a performing arts, conference, and function venue. Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: To work with the Operations Coordinator to ensure that the technical services are operating in a safe and professional standard at the highest level To implement all required aspects associated with conducting and facilitating technical requirements of the venue and events, including theatre conference and meetings, exhibitions, and functions To safely and efficiently set up, maintain and operate stage lighting, sound, audio visual equipment, special needs, and stage machinery To liaise with other team members within the venue to ensure necessary support and participation in events To ensure that all AlburyCity WHS procedures, including risk assessments, reporting incidents and hazards are considered in all aspects of work activities To liaise with incoming productions and business events and provide a high level of customer service Supervise casual staff, contract labour and visiting production personnel including cast and crew during bump in/out, rehearsals, and performances Ensure technical supplies are well stocked at all times Ensure high quality service is provided to internal and external customers Conduct induction of the venue to visiting personnel including cast, crew, and contract labour Programming of specific theatrical lighting designs as required by the hirers To set up pack down, load and unload equipment, sets, props and other materials for theatre events as required To ensure client event requirements are documented into the booking system Provide support and assistance at other non-related technical events as required. Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Supervisor which are within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training. Observe requirements of the WHS Legislation, relevant to the job and adhere to AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding WHS. Qualifications KEY RELATIONSHIPS: Internal Our People External Our Community Clients of the venue Contractors Patrons Professional and community performing arts practitioners EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS: Based on 38 hours per week, working across a 7-day spread, with actual days and times being worked in accordance with facility roster, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity’s RDO. Hours worked on weekends will attract the appropriate loadings. Payment for all hours worked and periods of leave will be as per the 7 day/week facility roster. This position may involve work outside normal working hours. Additional hours over the standard 38 hours will attract a time in lieu arrangement or payment of overtime rates as agreed with your supervisor. This position requires you to wear a compulsory uniform as per AlburyCity’s Our People Dress Code Standards. Our People are required to present a smart and professional image to the public at all times including when in public and when working remotely. This position involves working both indoor and outdoor, along with computer work. The position requires a moderate level of aerobic and physical fitness to undertake regular physical activities such as walking, lifting, pulling, pushing along with the capacity to maintain normal manual handling tasks across the workday – depending on the nature of the tasks undertaken. Appropriate WHS standards will be applied for all manual handing activity. A full functional and medical assessment is required for this position. This position requires evidence of a current Australian National Police Check. This position is subject to alcohol and other drug testing. This position is located at the Albury Entertainment Centre, Swift Street with occasional/frequent visits to external sites/depots and AlburyCity Administration Building as required. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: Class C Drivers (standard) licence (compulsory to have and maintain) First Aid Certificate DESIRABLE CRITERIA: Elevated Work Platform Certificate Dogging Certificate EXPERIENCE: Experience working within a live theatre environment or an entertainment venue Broad experience of stage craft including sound, lighting, audio visual, flying and rigging SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: A sound understanding and knowledge in the following: Community development principles as they relate to events Programming lighting, sound, and audio-visual systems Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and practices Risk assessments Record keeping The needs and requirements of a range of stage presentations and events Planning, design, implementation and operation of live audio and lighting High level computer literacy.
