Position Information Box Hill High School is a newly established school proudly serving the growing and diverse community of Box Hill. The new school will open on a temporary site on Day 1, Term 1 2026 for Year 7 students sharing a site with the Box Hill Public School on George Street, Box Hill. Box Hill High School will be an exciting and dynamic new educational setting committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and innovative learning environment that meets the needs of students and families in this vibrant area by fostering positive relationships, promoting student wellbeing, and delivering high-quality education through collaborative teaching practices and a broad curriculum. In 2026, the school will cater for approximately 120 Year 7 students and will be capped at 300 Year 7 and 8 students in 2027. When fully constructed on the permanent site in 2028 it will cater for 2000 students, including 7 support classes. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of the school’s foundational leadership team, playing a key role in shaping the culture, programs, and future success of the school community as it opens in 2026.The school will have close links with Box Hill Public School, Rouse Hill Public School and the soon to be constructed Gables Public School, as partner schools. Selection Criteria Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria: 1. Demonstrated high-level educational leadership skills with the capacity to establish, lead and manage a new innovative CAPA faculty, cultivating a collaborative and high performing team environment to drive excellence in teaching and learning. 2. Demonstrated ability to establish, develop and maintain high quality faculty systems and processes that invite evidence-based pedagogy through the strategic use of data, to inform high impact teaching and demonstrate measurable improvement for diverse learners. 3. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a positive faculty and school culture, engaging effectively within a diverse local community to raise the school profile and provide meaningful opportunities for student involvement in school life. 4. Ability to contribute as an effective foundational member of the school leadership team, driving the delivery of initiatives relating to school strategic directions through collaborative planning, high impact initiatives, fostering a shared vision of excellence that enhances student learning. General Selection Criteria 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
