The Australian and Queensland governments have jointly committed $9 billion - an 80:20 funding arrangement - for the Bruce Highway Targeted Safety Program (BHTSP), marking the largest single investment in the highway to date. This initiative aims to reduce crash severity and frequency, particularly between Gympie and Cairns, through measures such as wide centre line treatments, audio tactile line marking, intersection upgrades, rest areas, pavement strengthening, overtaking lanes, and upgrades to narrow structures, with completion targeted by 2030. It builds on over $6 billion in planned investment under the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP) 2024-25 to 2027-28. Project prioritisation will be guided by the Bruce Highway Advisory Council and both levels of government, with a corridor-wide fatigue management strategy informing rest area and stopping place upgrades. The Role In the role of Advisor (Property Resumptions) you will provide advice on property and land acquisition and have a practical understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures related to Queensland land tenure. You will utilise your property expertise to contribute to and influence outcomes within a high-paced project environment, to support the (BHTSP). Some of your responsibilities will include: - Coordinate and manage property information and documentation including liaison with Property Acquisitions and Disposals (PAD) to endure timely acquisition of land for transport purposes. - Provide specialist advice to project managers, management, regional officers and external clients on the processes and timing for property resumptions, early acquisitions, title corrections and the disposal of land. - Work collaboratively with project and property teams in relation to legislative and departmental policy, procedures and processes relating to land transaction issues to ensure compliance with all legal requirements. - Ensure correct processes and procedures and adopted in relation to assessment and rectification of various transport corridor and tenure types, easements, contaminated land and Native Title rights and interests. - Research and prepare reports, briefing notes and general correspondence on a broad range of transport corridor, land acquisition and land transaction issues.
