About the Role Be a positive role model to our participants in a supportive and caring environment, building a relationship based on HYPAR’s core values. Be compassionate, patient and understanding, supporting our participants to meet their goals. A day in the role of our Support Workers/Mentors will include: Working autonomously to provide support to our participants to help maintain and improve their level of independence. This may include community participation, skill building and relationship building to name a few Planning, assisting and engaging in suitable activities with our participants Encourage our participants to make healthy lifestyle choices and access health care services Engage in domestic duties such as, but not limited to; house cleaning, laundry, cooking meals, budgeting, shopping etc Providing mental health support work within a therapeutic framework to deliver quality care Complete case notes per shift, administration tasks and incident reports Positions are available on the Sunshine Coast. About You The ideal candidate will have: Exceptional emotional intelligence, demonstrating initiative and flexibility and be able to build strong relationships with our participants Desire to be a part of a dedicated team that also share the same focus-driven outcomes The ability to maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations Strong professional boundaries Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal and are proficient in the use of smart phones/computers. The drive to do meaningful work that improves the lives of our participants Ability to work a flexible roster, available across morning, evening and weekend shifts. You will also be required to have or be willing to obtain : Disability Support Work or industry relevant experience - Highly Regarded A current 10-year traffic history report Paid Blue Card Paid NDIS Disability Worker Screening (or valid yellow card) Child Safety background screening check (LCS2) Have access to a registered vehicle and full comprehensive insurance Open QLD Drivers Licence (International and P-Plate Licences will not be accepted) A working android or apple smartphone Please ensure you meet ALL the minimum requirements above before applying.
