Introduction The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Victoria, providing specialist knowledge and support to young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. Description CMY Program Managers are responsible for planning, organising, leading and motivating program and project teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality outcomes that align with the organisation’s strategic priorities and commitment to responsive integrated programs, services and initiatives. Each Program Manager is assigned a specific portfolio responsibility, but this may change and/or expand over time as the organisation’s priorities shift to better respond to our stakeholders’ changing needs and our strategic priorities. This position will lead the Youth Justice portfolio The Youth Justice Portfolio sits within the broader Program and Services area and has been established to lead, coordinate and manage the delivery of CMY’s youth justice specific programs and projects including crime prevention and early intervention projects and the Youth Referral and Independent Person Program (YRIPP) which delivers a high quality system of adult volunteers called “Independent Persons” who attend police interviews with young people in police custody when a parent or guardian is not available. Location: Carlton Applications Close: 11:59pm, Friday 3 October 2025 Interviews: to be held in the week beginning 13 Oct 2025 You will have Demonstrated knowledge of Victoria’s youth justice system Strategic thinker with proven ability to consult and collaborate across an organisation with highly developed relationship management and influencing skills Strong consulting skills, able to advise and communicate effectively at both the strategic and operational levels Excellent communication, interpersonal skills including written communication (work plans, reports, funding submissions/tenders and business cases) Proven leadership skills and ability to manage high-performing teams with demonstrable interpersonal team skills including supervision, coaching, collaborating, and team building Agile project management skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances while managing risk, budgets and quality outcomes Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” perspective Highly computer literate across the MS office suite applications, data management tools and virtual office tools.
