Reporting to the Deputy Principal (Academic), this role actively supports the School’s aspirations and strategic goals to contribute to a rich educational environment. About the role The Director of Library and Information Services is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the School Library. This includes delivering innovative student and teacher-focused library services, conducting research, curating collections, and maintaining archives and library spaces to enable exceptional learning and teaching within the context of the entire school curriculum. Additionally, this role leads the Library staff, providing vision and purpose that aligns with the School’s culture and ethics. The successful candidate will demonstrate extensive knowledge of contemporary library services, enabling them to develop and implement strategic plans underpinned by the School’s teaching strategies, to achieve optimal learning outcomes for students. They will also be committed to fostering a learning environment that promotes deep learning and excellence in teaching. About you You are a knowledgeable leader with extensive experience in delivering library services successfully. You bring: Tertiary qualifications such as a master’s degree in library and information science Relevant teaching qualifications Professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) Leadership and collaborative skills, and a commitment to maintaining a high-performing school culture A commitment to purpose-led work and a passion for inspiring young women through education Queensland College of Teachers registration or eligibility.
