What you'll be doing… You will complete a Certificate III Engineering - Mechanical Trade qualification over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with Zeal Futures and host employer, Peabody Energy. Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to: Perform planned maintenance and breakdown repairs of diesel mining equipment Mark out jobs, set up machines, prepare materials, tools and fixtures for machining Undertake machining operations, such as drilling, reaming, turning, milling, grinding and boring Service, repair and maintain existing mining equipment Assist in general duties that are within the limits of the skills, competence, and ability of an apprentice. What you'll bring to the table… To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet the following selection criteria: Ability to commence in January 2026 Commitment to both on and off the job training Strong mechanical aptitude with good mathematical skills, and display a genuine interest in the Engineering Mechanical trade Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge Ability to work in a team environment Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Mandatory Requirements Current drivers licence (P1 or above) Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment including a drug and alcohol screen.
