Jacobs Energy & Power Advisory team is seeking a dynamic Principal Energy Markets Consultant. In this exciting role, you'll play a pivotal part in developing and executing growth strategies that expand our Energy Markets Advisory offerings across the Asia Pacific region. You'll leverage your technical expertise and commercial acumen to lead high impact client projects, foster innovation in the energy transition landscape and make a lasting impact. Key Areas of Focus Manage the development and execution of commercial proposals focused on the energy transition across the Asia Pacific region. Identify, secure, and deliver strategic advisory projects in the energy markets space and energy transition services. Collaborate with our team of engineers, economists, and data analysts to solve techno economic challenges in the future power sector. Conduct technical and market due diligence assignments, bridging our world class technical teams with economic modelling experts. Undertake policy studies and apply economic theory to energy markets. Provide technical expertise in areas such as market studies, cost benefit analysis, and energy policy. Mentor and develop team capabilities. What you’ll need A relevant tertiary degree in economics, mathematics, statistics/data science, operations research, or engineering. Proven experience in energy market advisory roles, ideally in a consulting environment. Strong quantitative modelling skills and research abilities. Expertise in energy/regulatory frameworks applicable to power generation and distribution. Deep understanding of power plant technologies (wind, solar, battery, gas turbine), including performance parameters and cost structures. Knowledge of related industries and technologies such as natural gas, liquid/low carbon fuels, and electricity transmission (advantageous). Fosters positive communication, articulates complex problems, uses sound commercial acumen to enable a solution focused approach.
