Your Role As a Mechanical Engineering Technician, you will support engineers and maintenance teams in the design, assembly, and upkeep of mechanical systems across feed mills, farm infrastructure, and processing facilities. This full-time role combines technical and hands-on responsibilities, ensuring machinery and equipment meet operational requirements and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities Assist engineers in preparing plans, and designs for mechanical systems and modifications. Assemble, install, and commission new and modified machinery, hydraulic systems, and plant equipment. Select appropriate tools, materials, and methods for maintenance and installation tasks. Carry out inspections, scheduled servicing, and corrective maintenance on machinery and infrastructure. Collect and analyse operational data, prepare reports, and recommend improvements to efficiency and reliability. Support inspection and maintenance programs to ensure compliance with specifications and standards. Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and contractors to deliver operational and project goals. Skills & Experience Certificate IV in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent qualification). Minimum 3 years’ experience in a mechanical technician or related role. Experience with hydraulics, conveyors, processing equipment, or farm machinery highly regarded. Ability to interpret designs, drawings, and specifications with strong technical accuracy. Knowledge of OHS, regulatory standards, and compliance practices in mechanical operations. Strong communication and problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in a team.
