Description About the Role: We’re looking for a Business Support Manager to lead, support and transform our branch based administration, customer service, and pallet control functions. This is not a “business as usual” role – you’ll be empowered to review how we work, design and implement changes to improve customer experience outcomes, improve consistency in administrative functions across the logistics business, and influence within the business to adopt new ways of working. Your focus will be on prioritising initiatives that deliver real business impact while delivering on the day to day outputs of these functional areas. This role is open to any and all of our sites in Burnie, Launceston, Hobart, Devonport and Melbourne. This role is ideally suited to an individual that enjoys working in a fast paced, collaborative, complex and continually changing environment. Prior experience in a similar role where you were responsible for leading and implementing improvement initiatives will set you up for success in this role. A background in logistics is desirable, but not essential. Primary Duties and Responsibilities The effective management and continuous improvement of administration, customer service and pallet control across all logistics branches. Review and alignment of core functions across branches to enable consistency of approach and cross branch support for specific role functions. Financial performance of these functions including operating within budgeted resources and ensuring the timely and accurate entry of data and reporting required for the effective function of the logistics business. Partnering with operations, finance, commercial, sales, hr and IT to review, improve and or embed new processes that better align business support functions with the goals and objectives of the logistics business. Work with operational managers to facilitate and enhance interactions between business support and operational functions to improve customer experience, business insights, revenue capture and cost optimisation. Development and execution of strategies to improve customer service, administrative support and pallet management within logistics and contribute to strategies and operational improvements in administration for the logistics business more broadly. Other tasks reasonably required from time to time. Skills And Experiences What we are Looking For: Knowledge/Experience: Experienced in developing and executing effective change strategies within a complex, customer focussed organisation. Background in logistics or ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of logistics. Intermediate or above proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Experienced in using IT systems such as finance systems, Power BI and or similar systems to manage information. Demonstrated experience in leading, developing and supporting effective teams. Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels within an organisation to effect widespread change/improvement for customers and or the business. Excellent verbal and written communication including ability to prepare reports for senior management. Good financial acumen including the ability to interpret financial statements and understanding of or experience in overseeing accounting functions such as accounts payable, receivable, accruals and budgeting.
