We're looking for the best suited applicant for the role. As the Principal Project Officer you will:- Provide timely, high-level briefings, submissions, reports, correspondence and presentations on a range of tourism policy and program issues to Senior Management, the Minister, other government agencies and key stakeholders.- Lead, facilitate and partner on specific projects, programs and initiatives to support new and renewed investment in tourism infrastructure.- Represent the department in discussions/negotiations/meetings and develop and maintain effective networks and relationships between the department and strategic partners including industry bodies and local, state and federal governments, in supporting new opportunities for infrastructure- Undertake and co-ordinate research and provide strategic policy advice and leadership to ensure tourism interests are well represented in major Queensland and Australian Government initiatives.- Provide advice on tourism industry related programs /projects as they relate to departmental industry development priorities and provide advice on tourism industry related legislation and regulation provisions, including options to remove or reduce impediments.- Work in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) and other government agencies to grow tourism and make Queensland the destination of choice for visitors.- Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.- Establish and maintain effective networks with senior internal and external stakeholders (including government agencies, industry and business associations).
