Classification: PO5 Salary Range: $122,449 - $130,253 superannuation Duration: Ongoing Vacancy Type: Full Time Number of Positions Available: 1 Closing Date: 11:30pm, Thursday 25th September 2025 About the Opportunity The primary purpose of the Manager Chemistry is to ensure the provision of an efficient, timely, quality and effective operational output of highly specialised and complex forensic casework from the Chemistry Group, to meet client expectations, organisational priorities and service standards which provide crucial support to the operation of the justice system in South Australia. The position has line management responsibility for a team of Professional and Technical Officers covering forensic disciplines of illicit drugs, clandestine laboratories, cannabis, trace evidence and document examination. About the Business Forensic Science SA (FSSA) provides a comprehensive, coordinated range of services to agencies associated with the justice system including the State Coroner, South Australia Police (SAPOL), the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) and defence and civil litigants. We are part of the Attorney General’s Department and the Director, FSSA reports to the Executive Director, Finance, People & Performance. Within FSSA there are four scientific/medico-legal operational areas: Pathology, Chemistry, Biology and Toxicology, each analysing materials using a diverse range of scientific equipment and processes.
