Your New Role As Assistant Business Manager , you will report to the Vice Principal / Business Manager (or their delegate) and play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing multiple non-teaching departments to ensure efficient and innovative administrative operations across the College. This multifaceted role requires a strong leader who can manage day-to-day operations while driving strategic initiatives across the following key areas: Front Office, Enrolment & Parent Liaison; IT Department; Library; Human Resources; Transport; First Aid & Occupational Health and Safety; and Projects and Grounds Maintenance. You will provide leadership and guidance to department managers and staff, champion operational innovation, and ensure alignment with the school’s strategic goals and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities Oversee, train, and support teams across all listed departments to deliver excellence in service and compliance; Drive innovation through technology integration and process improvement across administrative functions. Manage department budgets, ensure cost-efficiency, and monitor operational performance; Ensure adherence to internal policies, employment law, OHS legislation, and regulatory requirements; Lead performance management, staff development, and workforce planning initiatives; Liaise with stakeholders across the school community including academic leaders, service providers, and regulatory bodies; and Support ongoing projects and strategic planning in partnership with senior leadership and the Projects Manager. What You Need to Succeed Education & Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, IT or a related field; and Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety (desirable). Experience & Skills: Minimum 5–7 years of leadership experience in business or operations management, preferably within an educational or complex administrative environment; Strong understanding of IT systems, HR practices, enrolment procedures, and OHS compliance; Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and deliver continuous improvement; Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills; High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently; and Sound knowledge of education sector operations and legislative frameworks.
