The key duties of the position include The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: Workforce Management: Manage recruitment for the maintenance hub (including liaising with OD arrangement of suitability assessments, relocations/travel, allowances), onboarding/offboarding staff, ensure operational requirements are delivered in accordance with National Observing Operations procedures. Training and Development: Track staff competencies, analyse training requirement for staff, liaise with training providers, internal and external, to provide appropriate training, coordinate and develop training schedules for new staff. Planning and Logistics: Support field technicians and scheduler with trip organisation and logistics Compliance: Comply with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures and guidance in the course of your work. Team Management: Provide line management by mentoring, managing, supervising and developing staff, review and approve travel requests and expense reports (Concur), manage Performance Development Scheme (PDS) and leave requests for direct reports, timesheets and compliance with Bureau Enterprise Agreement. Maintenance & Operations: Undertake occasional site inspections and maintenance of field equipment with training provided. Stakeholder Liaison and Engagement: Oversight of information requests queue and coordinate response from subject matter experts in the hub. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including staff from various Bureau programs, Contractors, Government agencies, Service Providers and project partners, always representing the Bureau in a professional manner in accordance with APS Values and Code of Conduct. Organisational and Process Management: Support Organisational change, manage documentation, sharepoint site, support Quality Management system (QMS), support a strong asset management culture utilising the Enterprise Asset Management System (Maximo) . Smooth running of hub operations, undertake administrative tasks such as finance reconciliations, invoicing, procurement, inventory records, stores and stock control. Travel & Incident Response: Occasional travel away from your home base is a part of this role. Occasional work and incident response support may require working outside of normal business hours including weekends, for which over-time and other allowances may be payable. Quality Management: Participate in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of products and services and the ongoing development, implementation and continual improvement of the quality management system to achieve and maintain the ongoing certification of compliance with the ISO 9001 Quality Management Standard. WHSE and Risk Management: Comply with all Bureau work, health, safety and environment policies and procedures, and take reasonable care for your own wellbeing and that of your team members, other employees, contractors and visitors who may be affected by your conduct.
