We have a (12-Month Contract - Extend) Principal Network Architect role available. This position is critical in guiding the evolution of the global network infrastructure, driving enterprise scale architecture decisions, and ensuring network capabilities are secure, scalable, resilient and future-ready. You will be responsible for leading the design, assessment and strategic advisory of networking solutions alongside one or more service providers. You will be responsible for reviewing existing architecture and providing expert recommendations to enhance performance, availability, and security. The role demands a rare blend of deep technical expertise, broad strategic thinking and strong communication skills. Key Accountabilities Architectural Leadership Validate high-level network architecture service provider recommendations Design recommendations for hybrid environment design Ensuring the network strategy is aligned with the Commission's goals Advise cross-functional stakeholders on network transformation, modernisation and emerging technologies Serve as a technical mentor to in-house network engineering teams building capabilities and reduce single points of knowledge Architecture Reviews & Assessments Lead a comprehensive technical review of the existing network infrastructure, identifying gaps and risks. Provide actional recommendations and remediation strategies in alignment with the network modernisation program. Design Authority Provide oversight and approval of network design, ensuring alignment with best practices, enterprise architecture standards, compliance and privacy requirements and internal security Authority to Operate process. Evaluations & Documentation Provide evaluation and selection oversight of any network technology, tools or service provider/s. Ensure all network designs, decisions and operational processes are documented and align to and follow architectural governance practices. Skills & Experience Required: Must be Australian Citizen OR have Baseline Clearance Highly Experienced and Visionary Network Architect 10 years of experience in Enterprise Networking 7 years Exp in Senior Network Architecture roles Deep technical expertise and broad strategic thinking skills Excellent communication & stakeholder Mangaement skills Proven Experience designing, transforming and implementing large-scale network infrastructures Deep expertise in core network protocols, Data Centres, Cloud Networking, Network Security and Segmentation Strategies etc .
