GCI is seeking an experienced Institute Manager that will be responsible for leading and overseeing the administrative operations of the Griffith Criminology Institute. This role ensures the efficient, effective, and equitable delivery of services and acts as the principal advisor to the Director and Deputy Director on matters relating to university, group, and institute policies and procedures. About you The successful candidate will hold a relevant tertiary qualification and experience as an administrative manager in a research-focused environment, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and/or education and/or experience. You will also have: Proven ability to contribute to and implement strategic and operational plans, including governance, budgeting, workforce planning, and performance monitoring. Strong financial acumen with experience in budget development, financial reporting, expenditure monitoring, and reconciliation of accounts in a complex organisational setting. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives, streamline administrative processes, and implement continuous improvement strategies. Experience in leading and managing professional and support staff, including performance management, team coordination, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including industry and academic partners. Knowledge of research administration and experience supporting the development of research initiatives and major grant proposals. Demonstrated ability to prepare high-level reports, manage compliance with university policies and legislative requirements, and contribute to institutional reviews and audits. What we can offer This is a continuing, full-time position primarily based at Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations. Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples. Salary Range The full-time base salary for a HEW Level 8 is in the range $113,713 - $127,923 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total FTE package is in the range $133,044 - $149,670 per annum.
