The Employer & The Role Our clients operate a 4,000-hectare mixed livestock enterprise north of Harrow Vic, managing a flock of 11,000 composite ewes and a trade cattle system that includes a lamb and beef feedlot. They are seeking an enthusiastic farmhand to join their team and work closely with the manager and assistant manager. The role involves a variety of agricultural and animal husbandry skills, including animal care for sheep and cattle, pasture improvement, fencing, light farm machinery operation, water trough maintenance, and feedlot management. You will play an active role in optimising production through effective grazing management and daily feedlot operations, as well as contributing to infrastructure improvements. The position requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with some weekend work included. The Offer Remuneration will depend on experience and skills, with overtime compensated. A two-bedroom cottage is provided on the farm, along with a meat allowance. On-farm training and opportunities for off-farm development are also available. Harrow is located within two hours of the coast and offers extensive opportunities for local sport, fishing and hunting close by. It is 20 kilometres from Edenhope, where you can find a school and hospital, and 90 kilometres from Horsham and Hamilton, which provides plenty of work opportunities for a partner.
