Overview About the role We are seeking a seasoned Risk, Audit and Compliance Manager to lead a team in managing all aspects of assurance/audit and operational risk across our General Insurance division. This role is pivotal in supporting strategic objectives and ensuring compliance with regulatory and licensing frameworks. As the Risk, Audit, and Compliance Manager, you will report directly to the Head of Risk and Compliance. You will lead the delivery of the Compliance & Audit Framework for our General Insurance operations, ensuring we meet regulatory requirements, mitigate risks, and deliver outstanding outcomes for our clients. How you'll make an impact What you’ll be doing In this role, you will focus on supporting our General Insurance operations by ensuring robust risk management, compliance and audit practices. Your key responsibilities will include: Partnering with General Insurance business leaders to develop and execute comprehensive audit plans, prepare insightful reports and present findings to senior management and governing bodies Building and maintaining strong relationships with General Insurance clients, external auditors, and internal teams, as well as acting as the key liaison with senior leadership and risk governing bodies Interpreting and applying legislation, regulations, and contractual compliance requirements specific to the General Insurance sector, ensuring adherence by the business to industry standards and best practices, and when required providing support in the identification of regulatory and reportable breaches Investigating operational incidents and control failures and monitoring the progress of remedial actions Working with the wider Risk Team to identify, assess, and provide advice on mitigations for divisional risks across the General Insurance business and contribute to the ongoing uplift of risk management across the business Leading, coaching and supporting a team of risk, audit, and compliance professionals to ensure their growth and successful delivery of the General Insurance division’s risk strategy. About you What We’re Looking For We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have: Qualifications and experience: Tertiary qualifications in risk, compliance, audit, or a related field. Extensive experience in risk, compliance, and/or audit, with a strong focus on General Insurance operations. A deep understanding of the General Insurance industry, including underwriting, claims management, and policy administration processes. Leadership Skills: Proven success in leading and embedding a quality improvement culture within an organisation. Regulatory Knowledge: Demonstrated ability to read and interpret legislation, regulations, and contracts specific to General Insurance.
