The Role The Forklift Mechanic role is responsible for carrying out a range of maintenance services. These tasks include pre-delivery, planned maintenance, repairs and service to both our client's fleet and customer owned equipment. Responsibilities: Carrying out vehicle servicing, & inspections Troubleshoot forklift problems to include brake, electrical and hydraulic systems, detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and/or malfunctions Field service reporting on completed maintenance jobs Ability to diagnose & action mechanical faults Undertake mechanical repairs Ability to work on LPG, petrol and diesel systems Good working knowledge of brake systems and tyre/wheel changes Liaising with the Maintenance/Workshop Manager on any issues that need attention regarding safety; Sourcing necessary parts required; Manage service/maintenance; Maintain service records to a high standard; Ability to complete breakdowns including offsite/roadside repairs; About You: Current Trade Certificate in Heavy Vehicles, Forklift Mechanic, Plant, Motor Mechanic (Light), Automotive Electrical (or equivalent) essential Must hold a current forklift license Experience & knowledge of internal combustion engines, hydraulics, pneumatic and electrical systems Experience & knowledge of fault diagnostics and software Must be a Safety driven individual with thorough knowledge of all WHS policies and procedures, including hazard identification & risk assessment training.
