Role DescriptionThe Organisation seeks a Volunteer Board Member to help shape the future of Newcastle Meals on Wheels. We welcome passionate individuals who are deeply engaged in the local community, especially those with experience in Community Services sector. Your leadership and commitment will support our mission and create a positive impact for those we serve. Bring your insights and heart to help make a meaningful difference. Responsibilities:Offer strategic leadership and oversight consistent with the goals and objectives of Newcastle Meals on Wheels.Attend and participate actively in regular board meetings, contributing to informed discussions and effective decision-making.Utilise specialised skills, sector knowledge, and professional networks to advance the organisation’s impact.Serve as an ambassador for the organisation, upholding its mission and values within the wider community.Work collaboratively with other board members and staff to promote robust governance and organisational excellence. QualificationsExperience in governance, strategic planning, and complianceSkills in fundraising, networking, and community engagementStrong communication and interpersonal abilities.Experience in the non-profit sector is a plusBackground in Community Sector, business, law, finance, HR or related fields is beneficialGenuine commitment to the purpose and values of Newcastle Meals on Wheels.Capacity to contribute effectively within a diverse team environment Time Commitment:Board meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of every month and may require additional involvement in committee assignments, organisational events, and strategic initiatives (up to approximately one day per month).
