The Role The School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) delivers Kindergarten to Year 12 (K-12) second language programs in Chinese, French, Indonesian, Italian and Japanese, with a large team of more than 30 language teachers. Our students are predominantly in small regional and remote schools and have a range of diverse cultural backgrounds. We are seeking highly skilled and enthusiastic language teachers with the capacity to develop and deliver quality languages programs suited to delivery in a distance education context. We are looking for dynamic teachers who would bring classroom energy into our online environment, inspiring and engaging our students around Western Australia and beyond. To be suitable for this role, you should have a qualification to teach one or more of the languages offered at SIDE, thorough understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum: Languages, and experience delivering high quality, effective and engaging programs to language students in a primary and/or lower secondary context. The capacity to teach language courses at Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) level will also be highly regarded. You should embrace the idea of delivering the curriculum through information communication technology (ICT), exhibit innovation and creativity in classroom practices and be able to cater for students with culturally diverse backgrounds and a range of needs and abilities.
