St James Lutheran College is seeking an experienced and future-focused Business Manager to join our Executive Leadership Team.Reporting directly to the Principal and College Council, the Business Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the effective operation of the College's financial, administrative and operational functions.This role provides executive oversight of finance, property, ICT, compliance, human resources, and administration, with a strong focus on strategic financial planning, risk management, and operational sustainability. The Business Manager acts as a key adviser to the Principal and Council, contributing to long-term planning and ensuring the College continues to thrive as a Christ-centred learning community.The successful candidate will lead and support staff across business services and provide high-level expertise in areas including financial stewardship, compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and the management of capital works and resources. Qualifications and ExperienceEssentialTertiary qualification in Business, Accounting, Commerce or related fieldMembership of a recognised accounting body (CA/CPA or equivalent)Demonstrated senior leadership experience in finance, operations, or administrationStrong financial management expertise including budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and reporting for organisations with $10M annual turnoverKnowledge of HR, WHS, and risk management frameworksProven ability to lead teams and build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholdersCurrent Blue Card (or eligibility to obtain prior to commencement)DesirableExperience in the education or not-for-profit sectorFamiliarity with TASS (The Alpha School System) or similar school-based systemsQualifications or experience in leadership, governance or organisational management Working ConditionsFull time, 5-year contract (renewable)Salary and conditions in accordance with LEQ Business Managers Salaries and ConditionsAccess to professional development, leave entitlements, and executive leadership benefits About St James Lutheran CollegeSt James Lutheran College is a dynamic Kindergarten to Year 12 school with over 750 students and a thriving Kindergarten of 44 children.
