Therapy Assistants – Group Programs & Weekday Shifts Casual role | Saturdays essential weekday availability Early Leaps Therapy is seeking motivated Therapy Assistants to join our growing paediatric team. This role requires availability on most Saturdays during school terms to support our OT-led group programs, plus a minimum of two weekdays of availability for Therapy Assistant shifts in the clinic, schools, and community. Our Term 4 group programs commence on 11 October 2025 , and successful candidates will begin with group facilitation, with the opportunity to grow into regular weekday Therapy Assistant shifts. While weekday shifts may not always fill two full days, consistent availability is required to ensure flexible scheduling. The Role Support children in small-group OT programs on Saturdays (set-up, co-facilitation, pack-up). Follow an Individual Plan developed by the child’s Occupational Therapist. Assist with participation, regulation, and transitions during activities. Contribute to group notes and resource preparation under OT supervision. Carry out weekday Therapy Assistant shifts (clinic, school, community) as delegated by an OT. Prepare therapy resources and support children’s progress in everyday activities. Contribute towards continually improving the practice’s processes and procedures. Availability: Most Saturdays during school terms (essential). At least 2 weekdays each week (shifts will vary depending on caseload; full two days not guaranteed). Candidates Must Have Availability on Saturdays (Oct 2025: 8.45am–12.45pm; Term 1 2026: 8.45am–2.45pm). A valid Working With Children Check . A current driver’s licence and car (essential). First Aid Certificate (preferred, but not essential). About You We’re looking for people who are: Passionate about helping children and families , with a commitment to maintaining a professional, positive, and ethical work environment. Experienced or have lived experience supporting neurodivergent children/young people . Reliable, flexible, and enthusiastic. Strong communicators, able to follow OT directions and engage kids in play. Keen to develop skills in paediatric therapy. Ideal candidates may include: Early Childhood Educators or Primary/Secondary School Teachers. School and Kindergarten support staff Students studying Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, or Psychology . Allied Health Assistants What We Offer Weekday casual hourly rate: $34–40/hr (incl. casual loading, based on experience). Saturday penalty rate: $51–65/hr (depending on experience). Superannuation and entitlements as per the Health Professionals & Support Services Award 2020 . Hands-on training and close supervision from experienced OTs.
