This isn’t one of those “write code, push tickets, go home” gigs. This role is about tackling tricky engineering challenges, getting hands-on with firmware, and working closely with a small team of engineers who thrive in an agile development environment. The company is on the lookout for an embedded software engineer with solid skills in embedded C and embedded Linux, as well as some exposure to Ethernet. It’s an ideal fit for someone with around 3–10 years of experience who’s ready to take on meaningful, technical work. If you’re the kind of engineer who thrives on cracking tricky programming problems, takes pride in turning ideas into real products, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team environment — this could be the role for you. The Role: Develop, maintain, and optimise embedded C code. Develop and debug in both Linux and Windows environments. Integrate external communication protocols (Ethernet and serial). Perform firmware bring-up on new electronic designs. Work with Yocto, Makefiles, Bash, Python, and build automation tools. Write and execute unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure functional correctness. Be part of Agile retrospectives, continuously improving how the team works together. What you’ll bring: 3-10 years of experience with embedded C and embedded Linux. Experience with Yocto, building Linux from source, and open-source compilation. Familiarity with Ethernet and serial interfaces. Experience with any of: Yocto, Makefiles, Bash, Python, and build automation tools. Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming a plus. Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. You must have working rights in Australia for this position. Sponsorship is not provided. The role requires you to be onsite in the Brisbane office. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
