The Opportunity Due to consistent growth and success across our business, Hardchrome Sales is now seeking a Leading Hand Cylindrical Grinder to join our well-equipped workshop located at Welshpool WA 6106. We are looking for day shift, 7.00am to 3.30pm Overtime is available. As a Leading Hand with Hardchrome Sales, you will be responsible not only for carrying out cylindrical grinding and polishing work but also for overseeing and coordinating daily workshop activities. This includes providing direction to the grinding team, monitoring quality and efficiency of output, and ensuring safety and productivity targets are met. You will support the Branch Manager in quoting jobs, scheduling work, training new team members, and being the first point of contact for operators on the floor. You will still be hands-on with operating various sizes of cylindrical grinders (up to 5 meters long) and completing tasks such as grinding chrome off rods, polishing them for chroming, and finishing jobs post-chroming. Training will be provided where required. About You Proven experience as a grinding operator or experience with hard chrome plating Previous experience in a leading hand or supervisory role (desirable) Read drawings, interpret written and verbal work instructions Ability to read and measure with metric and imperial micrometers (desirable) Able to lead by example and support a small team of operators Excellent teamwork and communication skills Ability to prioritise workloads, allocate tasks, and maintain workflow efficiency A proactive and positive 'can do' attitude with a commitment to safety What's in it for you?
