Backed by significant government investment and a consortium of leading universities, this venture will connect research, industry, and policy to accelerate the development of high-potential science into real-world solutions. With a mandate to commercialise breakthrough technologies, support emerging manufacturing capabilities, and steward high-level partnerships across public and private sectors, the organisation is positioned at the intersection of health, science, and innovation. The Opportunity This is a rare opportunity to lead from the ground up, shaping the strategy, building the systems, and operationalising the vision. As Chief Executive Officer , you will set the direction for long-term impact while navigating the real-world complexities of early-stage execution. Your remit spans: Building the organisational capability and culture from inception Leading commercialisation pathways for high-value IP and research assets Driving government, university, and industry partnerships Overseeing the operational interface with a dedicated GMP manufacturing facility Ensuring strategic alignment with national scientific and regulatory priorities Establishing a sustainable revenue model and investment pipeline The Person We’re seeking a credible and respected leader with a strong reputation in the life sciences, biotechnology, or related manufacturing sectors. This role requires someone who can operate at the highest levels, confidently engaging with senior government, research, and industry stakeholders while also understanding the practical, technical, and commercial aspects of building an operational organisation. You will have experience in biotech manufacturing, technology commercialisation, or translational science. You will be familiar with taking innovation to market — whether through startup ventures, university spin-outs, or advanced manufacturing settings. We are especially interested in candidates with: Executive leadership experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, health tech, or life sciences ventures Demonstrated success in commercialisation, technology transfer, or clinical development Deep understanding of regulatory, GMP, or scale-up environments Confidence in engaging with Chief Scientists, research institutes, and board-level stakeholders A PhD or other advanced qualifications in a relevant scientific or technical field (strongly regarded, though not essential). This role suits a leader who is both strategically sharp and operationally grounded — someone who can set the vision and walk the floor when needed.
