Job Description APS6 Clinician Location: Melbourne, VIC Contract Duration: Approx. 12 months Hourly Rate: $55-$65 per hour plus super Pre-engagement: Successful candidates will undergo NPC and Baseline Clearance About the Role We are seeking an experienced Clinician to join a national contact centre team providing support to veterans and their families. This role is telephone-based and involves intake, assessment, triage, and the provision of immediate clinical support. You will also be responsible for referrals to regional offices and other specialist services, working within a 24/7 rostered environment under a hybrid work-from-office/home model. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality clinical services including risk assessment, intervention, intake, referral, and brief counselling. Conduct evidence-based individual, couple, and family counselling sessions. Provide case management services to achieve outcomes identified in client care plans. Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including risk assessments, progress notes, and care plans. Participate in clinical supervision and continuing professional development activities. Liaise with clients’ families, treatment providers, and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated care. Adhere to professional, ethical, and legislative requirements for best-practice client care. Key Skills & Experience Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deliver trauma-informed, client-centred services. Demonstrated experience in mental health settings, including intake, assessment, and evidence-based interventions. Ability to manage critical incidents and risk assessments calmly and effectively. Previous experience in telephone-based or call centre clinical services (desirable). Strong IT skills with confidence in navigating clinical systems and documentation tools. Sound judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Mandatory Requirements Eligibility to hold a Working with Vulnerable People registration or Working with Children Check . Full registration with one of the following: Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, or Registered Nurse with AHPRA Social Worker with AASW membership Masters-level Counsellor with PACFA (Clinical) or ACA Level 3/4 registration Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance .
