The Director of National Parks (the Director) is responsible for six national parks, the Australian National Botanic Gardens, 58 Australian Marine Parks and the Heard Island and McDonald Islands Marine Reserve established under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. Parks Australia is the federal park agency that supports the Director, and they are a division of the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (the Department). The Property and Infrastructure Branch leads: the design and delivery of infrastructure projects providing economic benefit and enhancement of the natural and cultural values in the terrestrial national parks. the strategic approach to emergency management, security, property acquisition, management, maintenance, and disposal to drive sustainable commercial outcomes that contribute to long term asset planning and governance, while ensuring safety and compliance. The key duties of the position include The successful applicant will be an onsite representative of the Property and Infrastructure branch within one of our state-based offices. The role will support the delivery of a range of enabling services to departmental staff, through the following key duties: As the on-site representative manage the upkeep and maintenance of office accommodation in collaboration with the Property Service Provider (PSP). Manage access passes and departmental assets Achieve moderately complex work in an integrated team under broad direction. Provide policy advice in relation to facilities management and various enabling contracts. Manage branch functions including car parking, escorting of contractors and/or trades, lockers, emergency management, accommodation and minor works. Support the physical security team ensuring compliance with the department's security policies and procedures. Drive sustainability initiatives and embed environmental considerations. Support Head of Site, local SES and provide support for visiting VIPs or dignitaries. Develop and maintain a range of internal and external stakeholder relationships. Support onboarding of new staff through inductions and general support. Review and suggest innovative solutions for policy, governance and SOP's.
