About the Role Rivendell Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health Services (CAMHS) is committed to improving mental health for people and our communities by providing quality mental health services in partnership with consumers, families and service providers by providing quality healthcare, delivery of safe appropriate care, ensuring access to services, supporting our workforce, and working closely with the local community to manage the changing demand for services. The Getting on Track In Time (Got It!) program is a school based early intervention program delivered by Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) clinicians. The program is directed toward children from Kindergarten to Year 2 who display disruptive behaviour and emerging conduct disorder, and their parents and carers. The aim of the program is to build resilience, prevent mental illness and behavioural disorders in later life, and improve educational outcomes. This position, as part of the multi-disciplinary team, is responsible for the delivery of a range of services to the children and families participating in Got It!. This includes the development of behaviour/social skills group for children and the delivery of parenting programs to their parents/carers. The clinician will liaise and work closely with educational staff and will be expected to provide practical support, education, and direction to classroom teachers involved in Got It!. Development of consultation practices such as community education, and community development are key features of this position. To assist in developing recommendations for the sustainability of the program across the SLHD the program is aligned to the NSW School – Link Initiative. Clinical skills and experience in the assessment of treatment of children and their families presenting with complex mental health needs, using evidence–based approaches.
