Expressions of Interest – Independent Committee Members Closing Date: 26 September 2025 Yea & District Memorial Hospital (YDMH) is seeking Expressions of Interest for Independent Members to join the following voluntary Board subcommittees: · Finance, Audit & Risk Committee · Clinical Governance Committee Finance, Audit & Risk Committee The Finance, Audit & Risk Committee meets monthly to provide oversight of financial reporting, compliance, risk management, and internal / external audit functions. Required Qualifications & Experience: Applicants should hold professional qualifications and/or substantial experience in accounting, auditing, or strategic risk management, with demonstrated expertise in governance. A sound understanding of public sector management frameworks and an appreciation of the unique role and operational context of a small rural health service is highly desirable. As an Independent Member, you will: Bring independent judgement and expertise to support sound financial stewardship and effective risk management. Contribute to reviewing financial statements, budgets, and audit findings. Assist in monitoring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Provide constructive challenge and ensure robust discussion of financial and risk issues. Help strengthen assurance processes that safeguard the hospital’s sustainability and integrity. Clinical Governance Committee The Clinical Governance Committee provides oversight and assurance to the Board in relation to clinical quality and safety , ensuring that the care delivered is of the highest standard. Required Qualifications & Experience: Applicants should have experience in governance, board, or committee roles , together with: · Experience engaging with consumers, carers, or community representatives. · Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to constructively challenge and provide independent advice. · A commitment to delivery of safe high-quality care whilst upholding of the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality. Familiarity with the Victorian healthcare system or with regional/rural health services will be highly regarded. As an Independent Member, you will: · Provide an impartial perspective, independent of hospital management and operations. · Contribute to monitoring clinical performance and patient safety outcomes. · Support robust discussion on risks, compliance, quality improvement, and innovation. · Uphold the principles of accountability, transparency, and consumer focus in clinical governance.
