About the role The Clinical Educator/ Aboriginal Health Trainer plays a pivotal role in helping VACCHO build a well-qualified and skilled Aboriginal health workforce, supporting Member Organisations to strengthen the Aboriginal community-controlled health sector They shall lead and be responsible for empowering students to complete their studies for their vocational enhancements, and Community in a self-determining way. The position involves key activities in the educational planning, delivery and assessment of accredited vocational education and training programs for the Aboriginal health sector. Key responsibilities include curriculum development, course delivery and assessment management, quality assurance, student engagement and support, with a focus on enhancing the experience of VACCHO students and maintaining a positive and supportive learning environment. Essential skills/experiences To be successful in this role, you will be a competent and confident Educator who can provide culturally safe training, facilitating and contributing to the development, delivery, assessment, validation and moderation of health education programs. We are looking for someone with: Extensive clinical experience working as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner/ Registered Nurse with at least 5 years' experience in an acute setting or First Nations Health Care environment. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent. Diploma or higher-level qualification as a Registered Nurse in primary health or acute care. A Health Practitioner registered with AHPRA, with specialisation in primary health care Prior experience as a Clinical Educator and/ or delivering adult education to Aboriginal individuals and groups. Desirable Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply, as your cultural and lived experiences are central to the work we do.
