This is a Manager Sampling & Insights – Financial Crime role with Commonwealth Bank based in Sydney, NSW, AU Commonwealth Bank Role Seniority - mid level More about the Manager Sampling & Insights – Financial Crime role at Commonwealth Bank Do work that Matters: Quality Assurance (QA) is a team of Operations Professionals, part of the Financial Crime Services (FCS) team in Chief Operations Office (COO). The team is accountable for the development, implementation, and ongoing leadership of the Group’s financial crime operations shared service. Financial Crime Operations leads the Group’s approach to managing Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) and Sanctions risks and obligations through the provision of the following operational services AML, CTF, KYC, Sanctions, ECDD etc. The Role: Due to expanding requirements within the Quality Assurance (QA) team, a newly created position has been created for a Manager Sampling and Insights to join the QA reporting team. As the Manager Sampling and Insights, you’ll be responsible for managing the end-to-end QA sampling process and remediation activities within our Quality Assurance team. This includes activities in FCO, Credit Quality Risk Assurance and Business Banking Operations. You’ll work closely with the Sirius quad, business intelligence team and key stakeholders to ensure our sampling methodology is executed accurately and consistently and updated on a regular basis. The role will be a key stakeholder in reviewing and providing insights into remediation activities that are being undertaken by FCO. This role will have 1 direct report. On any given day you will: Lead and manage weekly and monthly QA sampling reviews in line with business requirements. Oversee the execution and refresh of sampling methodology annually, ensuring alignment with operational goals. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure comprehensive coverage and accuracy in sampling. Manage ad-hoc sampling and remediation exercises, identifying gaps and escalating issues as needed. Act as the primary liaison with the Sirius team to coordinate sampling execution and updates. Provide insights and reporting based on sampling outcomes to inform continuous improvement. We’re interested in hearing from people who have: Demonstrable experience in Financial Crime and a deep understanding of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements. Strong mathematical skills with an understanding of sampling methodology. Exceptional analytical and critical-thinking skills to identify discrepancies, assess accuracy and evaluate our sampling methodology to ensure it is fit for purpose. Strong stakeholder management skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
