We currently have a vacancy for a Melbourne Operations & Laboratory Manager to work within the Boeing Technology Innovation Australia (BTI-A) team. Reporting to the Melbourne Technology Centre Manager, this role will interface with BTI-A research managers, Boeing Aerostructures Australia and international Boeing Enterprise customers and stakeholders to provide local BCA and BDS program support and research and technology transition outcomes. You will be responsible for leading a team to plan and execute the BTI-A Melbourne Operations / Laboratory work statement for the ‘One’ laboratory (BTI-A and ATL organisations). You will also be responsible for ensuring a safe and effective working environment and the development of world-class equipment, facilities and people. Position Responsibilities: The key responsibilities you will need to perform include, but are not limited to: Lead the Melbourne laboratory operations team to plan and execute the BTI-A operations work statement within cost, schedule and resourcing requirements Lead the development and implementation of laboratory capability, laboratory validation, skills, certifications and processes Coordination with BTI-A Technology Integrator for Melbourne legal support for Contracts and IPM Coordination with BTI-A Technology Integrator for Melbourne procurement and receiving finance activity Ensure the ‘One’ Laboratory operates in a safe and compliant manner including capital improvement Support development and maintenance of appropriate BTI-A/BAA management and quality procedures Provide regular reporting of progress and quality performance under BTI-A and OneBPS frameworks Conduct training, coaching and induction of new employees Champion employee development and performance management Participate and support internal and external customer reviews Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience): Degree in engineering, materials science or a related discipline Working knowledge of one or more of the following - laboratory operations, engineering processes, production systems and/or aerospace mechanical/systems testing 7 years within a research and development, engineering or laboratory environment Demonstrated interpersonal and people management skills Proven track record in proactive employee engagement Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven ability to communicate with scientific and non-scientific communities from all levels Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience): • Proven track record in project planning, resourcing and execution of test and/or development projects and programs Classification Level: This is a non EBA Position IJC 6C1KMK and remuneration will be commensurate with skills and experience.
