Your Role at St John of God Bendigo Hospital You will ensure effective daily operation of the Allied Health department including scheduling, administration, billing and debt functions and to support the Allied Health Manager to maximise the usage of the department’s activity across both outpatients and private practice services. This role reports to the Corporate Services Manager and will also work closely with the Allied Health Manager. The Position Provide direction, support and supervision to administration caregivers working in the Allied Health Department Manage orientation of new administration caregivers to the department In collaboration with the Allied Health Manager, manage the scheduling of the department to maximise activity with specific focus on community need, budget and St John of God mission and values Coordination of outpatient appointments in line with health fund billing rules and guidelines Manage outpatient and private practice billing matrix to facilitate accurate and timely billing of outpatients. Ensure all outpatients have the appropriate fund check and informed financial consent prior to attendance. Audit / review informed financial consent process annually. Manage debt collection in collaboration with accounts receivable shared services team. In accordance with hospital policy, guidelines and tools gather and provide information to facilitate effective communication across all departments and our external customers as directed. Ensures the integrity of such information and makes corrections when mistakes occur. This includes internal and external customers. You will have experience in patient administration role in a coordinator/team leader capacity, preferably within a health care environment. To succeed you will have ability to manage resources effectively, meet deadlines and prioritise workload accordingly.
