Applications close 11:30pm AEST, Sunday 21 September 2025 The Opportunity The Passport Fraud and Integrity Section (PFS) is seeking an agile, team player who has experience in policy development and demonstrate client service to fill the role of Fraud Liaison Officer within the section. PFS plays a critical role in protecting the integrity of Australian Passports and APO systems. The section is comprised of 6 specialist units which include forensic examination, data analytics, investigations, identity resolution and fraud liaison. The Passport Fraud Liaison Officer will be working with Government and non-Government partners on sensitive issues and will require an ability to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships. Further duties will include providing policy advice to both internal external stakeholders and the ability to apply legislation to our passport issuance process. The key duties of the position include The Passport Fraud and Liaison Officer will be a versatile role, spanning across several fields such as participating in projects, policy and governance, facilitating fraud awareness training and stakeholder management. Our ideal applicant will have highly developed communication skills with an in-depth level of knowledge to assist in the development and maintenance of external memorandums of understandings, governance and policy development Our ideal applicant will assist in cultivating working relationships across Government and non-Government partners. They will also have an ability to determine the framework of policies, regulations, risks functions, procedures, and responsibilities by which programs will be established, managed, and controlled. Our ideal applicant will have the ability to apply legislation to processes and provide policy advice within the framework. They will engage with the internal network to provide training and support on fraud related matters within their offices. We are seeking someone who can engage and provide advice to the department and external agencies discreetly when managing sensitive and complex issues and cases, and in line with the relevant Australian laws and internal passport policies.
