As a Pathology Collection Service Manager, you will maintain phlebotomy competency and regularly perform collections as required to support service provisions. You will provide leadership and direction to Pathology Queensland phlebotomy staff in the Gold Coast Group Laboratories, with a high level of initiative to achieve identified outcomes within established timeframes. Additionally, you will maintain and apply specialist knowledge, skills and experience in phlebotomy collection and provide specialist support and advice regarding complex resource and operational issues relating to service provision, as required for the Gold Coast group laboratories. Key competencies (role specific criteria) Demonstrated experience in managing high-quality, cost-effective specimen collection and processing departments in a clinical pathology laboratory, and in-depth knowledge of laboratory processes. Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, co-ordinate and train staff across multiple sites to provide an efficient and effective pathology operational service with a commitment to team ethics. Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation and conflict resolution, client liaison and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, scientific, operational, medical and nursing staff at all levels.
