Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Road Designer / Civil Design Engineer with 8–10 years of experience to join our Sydney team . You’ll work across a diverse range of civil infrastructure projects, including urban and regional roads, airport facilities, construction staging, bridges, and car parks. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for delivering detailed designs, managing design processes, and working closely with both clients and project teams to ensure successful outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Lead and deliver road, drainage, and pavement designs from concept through to detailed design Manage design packages, ensuring compliance with TfNSW, council, and relevant Australian standards Oversee and coordinate multidisciplinary inputs including staging, bridges, and associated civil works Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and contractors to clarify requirements and resolve design issues Undertake design management, QA processes, and coordination with drafters Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters Prepare design reports, cost estimates, and supporting project documentation Qualifications: 8–10 years’ experience in road and civil design, ideally with exposure to varied project scales Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (or equivalent) for road, drainage, and pavement design Strong understanding of TfNSW and local government standards Experience managing design packages and coordinating multidisciplinary inputs Excellent communication skills and client-facing capability Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline Why join the CJC team?
