About the Role As Chief Property & Development Officer, you will lead the strategic growth, innovation, and performance of Bethanie’s property and development functions. With a focus on aged care and retirement living, the role spans end-to-end project leadership, portfolio planning, property operations, and innovation in housing and care environments. This is a rare chance to guide the transformation of one of Western Australia’s most respected providers - and create lasting impact through values-led development, asset optimisation, and collaborative executive leadership. Key Responsibilities Strategic Development & Growth Develop and deliver Bethanie’s long-term property and development strategy. Lead new site acquisitions, master planning, greenfield and brownfield redevelopment initiatives. Use demographic, customer, and market insights to inform design, product mix, and location strategies. Project & Asset Delivery Oversee the full development lifecycle, from feasibility to completion. Ensure alignment with financial, customer, operational, and compliance requirements. Implement governance and reporting processes to track risk, cost, and performance. Property Operations Lead the Property Operations function, ensuring high standards in maintenance, lifecycle planning, and regulatory compliance. Embed robust systems for real-time performance tracking and long-term capital planning. Innovation & Community Design Shape future-focused, customer-led living environments aligned with Bethanie’s Thriving Communities vision. Explore and implement global best practices in seniors housing, ageing-in-place, and care integration. Cross-Organisational Collaboration Work closely with clinical, operations, strategy, finance, and customer teams to ensure developments serve broader organisational goals. Contribute to infrastructure and community facilities that extend beyond residential environments. Stakeholder Leadership Represent Bethanie in planning and regulatory processes, government engagement, and sector forums. Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary internal team and consultant network. About You Qualifications & Experience Tertiary qualifications in Property Development, Urban Planning, Architecture, Construction Management or related. 10 years’ senior-level experience in development leadership, ideally with exposure to aged care, retirement living, student accommodation or residential developments. Proven success delivering complex property projects and optimising operating portfolios in regulated environments. Skills & Attributes Strategic and commercial thinker with strong financial literacy. Capable of translating vision into deliverable action plans and investment-ready business cases. Strong understanding of property and aged care regulatory frameworks. Values-driven, collaborative, and passionate about improving the lives of older Australians.
