Located on the Camperdown and/or Camden Campus at the School of Life and Environmental Sciences (SOLES) Opportunity to shape the curriculum with respect to dairy science and animal management systems at the Faculty of Science Base Salary, Academic Level A/B $113,400 - $151,328 p.a 17% superannuation About the opportunity The School of Life and Environmental Sciences (SOLES) is currently seeking a Lecturer or Associate Lecturer in Dairy Science (Education Focussed) to develop and deliver learning content in the areas of dairy science and ruminant management systems. The successful candidate will join a team of animal production academics within the School. You will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to teaching and learning design, delivery and evaluation in the fields of dairy science and ruminant management systems, while also contributing to research in relation to your discipline and/or your educational practice. The successful candidate will be expected to dedicate most of their contribution to teaching and teaching-related activities (70%), while also engaging in research (20%) and governance, leadership, and engagement (10%). Your key responsibilities will be to: coordinate and teach an Honours (4000-level) unit in dairy production and technology coordinate and teach an Intermediate (2000-level) unit in animal management systems teach dairy- and large ruminant-related content into other units, as required deliver outstanding teaching and learning outcomes for students in dairy and animal management units assist in the management of Professional Development units of study, as required. As such, we see the importance of recruiting talent aligned to these values and are looking for a Lecturer or Associate Lecturer in Dairy Science who has: a PhD in dairy science or a related academic field demonstrated experience in coordinating an undergraduate unit of study sound experience of dairy science and ruminant management systems teaching and learning, and the ability to contribute to teaching at undergraduate and Honours levels in lecture, practical and field settings experience in contributing to outstanding educational design, delivery, evaluation and outcomes a record of excellent teaching, learning, and assessment practice in a tertiary environment, as evidenced through student and supervisor feedback demonstrated ability to engage with industry organisations and partners high-level written and verbal communication skills the ability to work collaboratively with other staff, including professional staff, and foster principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.
